PolitiChat

The PolitiChat app will be a place for users to come to get information on political topics and elections, and most importantly, be a place to discuss and debate civilly with other users. When they come to the app, they can browse blogs and polls, or choose a topic to discuss. The app will randomly match them with another user to discuss the chosen topic with. Users’ political affiliations will not be revealed to the other user until five icebreaker questions are answered (hobbies, family, pets, etc.) to get to know each other without initial bias. The purpose of the app is to find common ground with people across the political spectrum during a divided political climate, challenge stereotypes, gain perspective, engage in genuine debate, and prepare for elections.
